About Mike

Building technology with people in mind

Mike Brooman is Smart Buildings Director at Vanti, part of Built Cybernetics. With more than 15 years’ experience, he has delivered projects across the full RIBA lifecycle in both base buildings and fit-out, from strategy and design through to integration and operation.He specialises in enterprise architecture for the built environment, aligning systems, data and processes to support organisational goals, and in master systems integration, making different hardware and software work together so the sum is greater than the component parts. Alongside this, he champions design approaches that prioritise user experience, ensuring buildings and spaces are intuitive, responsive and a pleasure to use.Mike is known for achieving alignment across property owners, consultants, contractors and occupiers, helping projects move beyond conflicting priorities towards demonstrable results.He combines knowledge of current and legacy building systems with expertise in IoT, AI and cloud technologies, bridging strategic ambition with practical delivery.
